Connecticut All-Natural Tick Control

Tick-borne illnesses are a serious threat to public health, and without treatment these pests can spread diseases such as Babesiosis, Anaplasmosis, Tularemia, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Borrelia Miyamotoi, Powassan Virus and of course Lyme disease, which was first identified right in here in Connecticut.

Known for their ability to survive in a wide range of conditions, made worse as temperatures continue to rise, ticks can now be active all year ’round in areas like the Southern Connecticut Coast.

Our non-toxic tick spray is proven effective, with over 19 years of results across New England. Consistent and routine application will kill and control tick infestations around your property without harming the environment or human health. Pure Solutions PROGAEA ™ line of products is safer to apply around children and pets while minimizing the impact on the environment.

All-Natural Mosquito Control in CT

Mosquito-borne diseases are on the rise, especially along the Connecticut shore. Climate change, rising temperatures and increased rainfall create ideal conditions for mosquito breeding, causing diseases like West Nile Virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), Jamestown Canyon virus and Cache Valley virus to become more prevalent in our area.

Due to their proximity to Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound, shoreline areas like Stonington, Essex, Old Saybrook, and surrounding communities are particularly vulnerable to mosquito infestations and the risks of mosquito-borne illnesses.

Our botanical pest control sprays naturally control mosquito populations around your home, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about getting bit. Starting a mosquito treatment program early in the season eliminates breeding sites and reduces these pests’ numbers, while our eco-friendly BTI treatments, for properties with ponds and standing water, target mosquito larvae before they can cause new infestations.

I’ve been using pure solutions for a year. I’ve noticed a reduction in mosquitoes and ticks. Prior to pure solutions, I was pulling ticks off my dog weekly. That hasn’t happened since, that piece of mind is worth the premium service. Nate from pure solutions really does a thorough job. I can’t thank him enough.
The service was excellent and the person spraying very good and completed the job beautifully! Strongly recommend!
Their work transformed the dying/ diseased parts of my lawn in two weeks- look the attached photos. After being told countless times that organic lawn care is useless, I would say that is completely false. The rest of the lawn is also in significantly better condition. Great work!
Ben was on time, very thorough and professional!!!
Great service. They are always polite and flexible for schedule changes.
We have not had any deer damage during all of last winter and so far this winter. So, I am very pleased with the service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it worth spraying your yard for ticks?

Yes, spraying your yard for ticks is worth it!

Ticks carry and spread a variety of dangerous diseases, including Lyme disease, Babesiosis, Anaplasmosis, Powassan virus, Rock Mountain spotted fever, and Tularemia. These diseases can lead to serious health issues, some of which can be fatal, and spraying your yard for ticks helps significantly reduce their populations, minimizing the risk of contracting those illnesses.

At Pure Solutions, we use an all-natural tick repellent that is applied regularly to your yard. PROGAEA ™ Pro kills ticks on contact by disrupting their exoskeleton and natural processes, eliminating them within 15 minutes of contact. Regular tick treatments help protect both your family and pets from potential tick bites and the diseases they carry.

When should I start spraying for mosquitoes in Connecticut?

It’s best to start spraying for mosquitoes in Connecticut in April when temperatures consistently reach above 50°F. Mosquitoes begin to emerge as the weather warms, so starting treatments early in the season helps control their populations before they become a nuisance. Regular treatments throughout the warmer months— until the first frost—can help keep mosquitoes under control and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses, such as West Nile virus and EEE.

Our tick and mosquito treatments both kill and repel ticks and mosquitoes. We use an EPA 25b all-natural product called Progaea TMpro. This product is exclusive to Pure Solutions and consists of essential oils and soap.

When should I fertilize my lawn in Connecticut?

The best time to fertilize your lawn depends on several factors, including the climate, grass type, and the specific nutrients your lawn needs. As a general guideline, it's recommended to fertilize when your grass is actively growing, and for cool-season grasses common in regions like New England, that's typically in early spring and fall.

Our organic lawn care program includes 5 rounds of fertilization, starting in April (weather permitting), with treatments scheduled every 45-60 days. At Pure Solutions, we use organic slow-release fertilizers rich in essential nutrients, including beneficial microbes and organisms vital for maintaining healthy soil. Our eco-friendly fertilizers are designed to be safe for the environment and will not leach into Coastal Connecticut’s water sources.

When should I aerate and overseed in Connecticut?

The best Connecticut lawn care schedule includes aeration and overseeding during the growing season. More specifically to the Southern Connecticut Coast, the ideal time for aeration and grass seeding services comes around September or October (during round four of our organic lawn care programs).

This timing takes advantage of cooler temperatures and increased rainfall, creating perfect conditions for seed germination for cool-season grass species most common in our region. Autumn is also best because it gives grass the time it needs to establish strong roots before winter, resulting in a lush, resilient, green lawn come springtime.

How much does lawn care cost in Connecticut?

Pure Solutions offers customized organic lawn care solutions tailored to your property’s size and specific needs. Pricing is based on the services you choose and the results of our initial soil test and technician survey.

We provide free quotes to help you determine the best approach for your lawn. Contact us today, and we’ll design a plan to keep your lawn healthy and beautiful.

What pests are common in Coastal Connecticut?

Coastal CT is home to a variety of pests that can affect your outdoor spaces. Some of the most common pests include:

  • Ticks: Deer ticks and dog ticks are prevalent in the area and can carry diseases like Lyme disease. Our eco-friendly tick spray services eliminate these vectors from your property through cycle disruption and habitat targeting, providing long-term protection for your family, pets, and outdoor spaces. For more information on ticks and tick-borne diseases in Connecticut, visit the Connecticut Department of Public Health's tick resource page.
  • Mosquitoes: Mosquitoes thrive in the humid, coastal environment, especially during warmer months, and can spread illnesses such as West Nile Virus. Pure Solutions' natural mosquito treatments target mosquitoes at all stages of their life cycle and prevent larvae from developing, ensuring effective and eco-friendly control.
  • Ants: Carpenter ants and other species are commonly found around homes and yards. Our eco-friendly ant control solution is applied as a granular treatment around the perimeter of your property, creating a protective barrier to prevent ants from entering your home.
  • Grubs and Lawn Pests:  Japanese beetles and other lawn-damaging insects can harm grass and plant health. Our organic grub control applications, applied in early spring and late summer, target damaging larvae and deter future grub and beetle populations, protecting your lawn year-round.

Our all-natural pest control solutions are specifically designed to target these pests while keeping your family, pets, and the local ecosystems safe.

How common is Lyme Disease in CT?

Lyme disease was first discovered in Connecticut in 1975, and it remains a significant public health threat. Connecticut is one of the states with the highest rates of Lyme disease in the United States, with approximately 30,000 people diagnosed each year, according to the Connecticut Department of Health.

The high deer population in the state contributes to the spread of Lyme disease, as these animals help carry ticks onto properties, increasing the likelihood of tick bites. To protect yourself and reduce the likelihood of contracting Lyme disease, it's essential to use eco-friendly tick control services and natural deer repellent treatments, effectively minimizing exposure to these harmful pests.

If you find a tick on your skin, it’s important to remove it safely and take appropriate precautions to prevent infection.
