Don’t Let Mosquitoes Keep You Indoors
Progaea™ Organic, Natural Mosquito Control Solutions
prevent & eliminate mosquitoes with our National Organic Program-compliant mosquito control programs customized for your property
Mosquitoes are more than a nuisance. They also pose health risks to humans and animals. Even when summer winds down, New England remains at risk for viruses carried by mosquitoes.
Using natural repellents and organic sprays, we limit mosquito populations around your home with the most environmentally-friendly and safe insect control products available.
The Risk of Mosquito Bites
Mosquito-borne diseases are spread to people (children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable) by the bite of an infected mosquito. The work we do will control the mosquito population near your home, and reduce the risk to your family, guests and even pets.

Natural Mosquito Control
Understanding the natural behavior of mosquitos is key, especially if you want to use non-toxic methods. Mosquitoes thrive in warm, moist environments, and are most active spring and through fall.
Starting routine organic mosquito control sprays early in the season significantly disrupt the breeding cycle, substantially reducing their population. Using natural repellants to keep more from moving in, along with other eco-friendly practices, hinders them from re-infesting your lawn after we push them out.
Safe Bti Water Treatments
Applied to stagnant water, Bti (shorthand for ‘microbial larvicide’ treatments) are natural bacteria which infect and kill mosquito larvae. These bacteria are highly selective, killing only mosquitoes while not harming other insects, fish, birds, worms or any mammals.
If you have vernal pools or standing water on your property, this service will reduce the active mosquito population in your area.

Mosquitoes are a common pest that can be both annoying and dangerous, as they are known to transmit diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, and Zika virus. To control mosquitoes, it is important to eliminate their breeding sites, which are usually stagnant water sources like buckets, flower pots, and other containers that hold water. These breeding sites should be emptied regularly or covered to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs. At Pure Solutions we offer a Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis to be place in stagnant water that cannot be drained to prevent mosquito breeding
- Eliminate standing water: Mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water, so eliminate any sources of standing water near your home.
- Install screens: Make sure your windows and doors have tight-fitting screens to keep mosquitoes out.

To best protect your backyard, you can take multiple precautions. First, we recommend spraying mosquito treatments on your property, we mainly focus on treating shrubbery and trees on the properties we treat but also spray the lawn and gardens, avoiding flowering plants to not spray pollinators directly. Additionally, there are herbs and plants that repel mosquitoes, emptying stagnant water removes breeding grounds, and using a fan when enjoying the outdoors keeps mosquitoes at bay.
There are several natural substances that can effectively repel mosquitoes and keep them away. Some common examples include citronella, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, and lemongrass. These substances work by masking the scent of carbon dioxide and other chemicals that attract mosquitoes, making it harder for the insects to locate their human targets. Additionally, some plants such as marigolds, catnip, and basil also have mosquito-repelling properties, making them a useful addition to your garden or outdoor space.
